Valentines Day!

t
I am a girl of wants, it's sad I know, but at least I am not in denial! It should be a good thing for Jordan because he should never not know what to get me for Birthdays, holidays, Anniversaries. Don't worry, he says he still struggles. He was really cute this Valentines Day. He came home the day before with this huge beautiful tropical bouquet of flowers because if he brought them home Thursday I wouldn't get to enjoy them as much since I was leaving town. But it is also his thing that he thinks it's even more of a "surprise" if he brings things home a day before because I wasn't expecting it, but he does it all the time that way, so now I just expect things the day before, he's funny. =)

On Valentines morning he had three cards out. On the front of one it said Meeowwwmee, I did not get it, he was very disappointed he thought he was creative with that. It was a card from our cats...get it?! It was cute he wrote a message in there from "the cats" with coupons that I could redeem to Jordan to clean out the litter boxes with out complaints. Then I had one from the boys with coupons as well for getting up at night with out complaints when I am to tired to get up. He had a few in his card as well. Both the cats and the boys got me chocolate, they must have gone shopping together. Then he arranged for his brother and his wife to watch the boys so he could take me out on Friday night to dinner, it was our first night out with out the boys, it was very nice of them, especially because the evenings are their fussy times, we tried to make it quick. It was very creative and I am always grateful for all the special things he does me.

For Jordan I was really excited about what I got him, partly because I knew I would enjoy some of his gift. He recently got himself an Xbox 360, whatever, he never splurges on himself so I say good for him! I was going to get him a gift card so he coul buy a game, but I thought I wanted to give it a try, I don't love giving gift cards, I don't mind getting them, I just don't love giving them. So I got the #1 rated game of the year which he said he liked, and then I got this Xbox scene it game that came with 4 controllers so you can play teams, or individually with multiple people. We played it before I left to Boise and when I got back, we really enjoy it, so I was proud of myself. I was so excited when I got his gift I almost gave it to him early, but I held out.

What A Month!

Man, it's been a long month!!! I haven't had time for anything, but I guess that is what happens when you have kids, but even more so with twins, they kick my butt! So the last few weeks we have been trying to get the boys to kick some bad habits. First, we have a temperpedic bed and when the boys kept getting up in the night every hour and slept better with us we thought sleeping with us would be the best solution. The only problem is we were afraid with the bed their faces would sink into the bed since they won't sleep on their backs (another bad habit) and we were afraid of rolling on them. So our next wonderful solution was using those travel neck pillows, they seemed to sleep really well on those and if their face turned in the middle there was a big hole so we weren't worried to much about them getting stuck and if we rolled we hit the pillow, not them.

These wonderful ideas of ours seemed to work, some what at least, they still woke up through the night, just not as often and most of the time was just to eat. Now, the pillow helps them to roll onto their back, which wakes them up through the night more than they did before. That is when we new it was time for them to get use to their crib and off the pillow!

While I was in the process of all this we were actually going through problems with their naps, they were short and inconsistent. My sister-in-law called and told me about a book called, Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. It actually made me feel 90% better and not like such a failier. It said bottle fed babies would get up 1-2 times a night to eat, which is pretty much what they were doing. It also made me feel ok about them sleeping in bed with me, unlike other books, and my favorite is it wasn't so strict. If they were tried, put them to bed..for the most part, the main idea was not to have your babies over tired. Anyway, I loved it!

So, I had two weeks of 2 crying, tired, fussy babies because all at once they were trying to get use to their crib, sleep with out their pillows, and get on a schedule. The best part is when they seemed to start getting use to it, they got colds which started messing it up a little, but what got them the most was traveling to Boise. With the time change and the lack of sleep they got their they are sick all over again, and Ayden has his second ear infection. It never ends! But I don't regret trying to get them use to everything before our trip. It's easier for them to get use to their old schedule than it would have been, and now they are successful sleepers with out their pillows...they only use on them on occasion when they are sick, but other than that, they are much better sleepers with out it, for the most part!

I've been Tagged

I've been "tagged" byLaura!
A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

10 years ago: Man, I was just starting high school and that was my favorite "running" year. I was on the freshman cross-country team and won every race but 1 and then I was moved up to Varsity to compete in state!

5 things on my to do list today:

1) Call United Airlines and let them know me and my friend will be traveling with infants- I ordered my tickets through Hotwire and it didn't give me that option
2) Go to Target and get Mylicon for the boys and find the tupperware kit that comes with a turn table to organize the lids and containers- then through all my other ones out!
3) Write a thank you card to this lady that made blankets for the boys
4) Go to Babies R Us and see if the formula is FINALLY in, and also get vinyl bibs-the good kind, they're worth it!
5) Enter receipts into our budget

Snacks I enjoy: CHOCOLATE-it's my weekness, Ice Cream (Ben and Jerry's Phish food), fondue, grapes, clementines, 100 calorie snacks...the list could go on!

What I would do if I were suddenly a billionaire: I would definitely buy a house, a beach house with a sail boat in CA, a cabin on a lake in Island Park with a boat and jet ski's and can't forget the four wheelers, finally go on a trip out of the country, buy a plane so I wouldn't have to buy airline tickets anymore..or better yet, buy one of the companies...Delta, United, anything, then I would be getting help by the other flyers to pay for it and I would be making an income, go on a shopping spree. Man, this list could go on as well. What can I say, I am a girl of wants not needs.

3 of my bad habits: 1.I would rather do everything myself so things are done the way I want them then have help 2. I'm a night owl and a horrible early riser which don't mix when I am getting up all hours 3. I pick at my nails, they will never be long.

5 places I have lived: Idaho, New York, Michigan, Utah, California

5 jobs I have had: 1.Retail 2. telemarketer 3. CNA 4. Recruiter for Human Resource Department 5. Jamba Juice - food, I don't know what you'd call it

5 things people don't know about me:
1)I can say the Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish
2)I took piano lessons for 2 years and can play the first line of "A Whole New World"
3)I am such a wimp and I am scared of being scared, but I love being scared
4)I am terrified of needles
5)I hate beets and squash

I tag Carrie, Morgan, Tara, Tommi and Becky!

A Mama's Boy

Gavin really does love his Daddy. This is a picture of Gavin when he fell asleep unexpectedly and Jordan thought he looked so cute and comfy that he didn't want to put him down, and since his arms were "full" he thought while he was sitting he would play some Xbox as well, it was actually pretty funny, any excuse to play.

Tonight I ran to the mall really quick with Kassie to look for some boots to go with my cute new dresses. Jordan says if he knew I needed boots then I shouldn't have gotten my dresses, but hows a girl to know what accessories she needs before she has the product! =) We were gone for seriously like an hour and I get a call from Jordan with the sound of two crying babies in the background. He said they had been crying the entire time, at least Gavin was. Gavin woke up Ayden and Ayden just cried for a a few minutes. I felt bad, I thought I had him covered because I had them both down before I left and it's the time of night that they sleep for longer portions. when I got home Gavin was still screaming, I took him and he immediately stopped crying. It made me feel so good, sad because it made Jordan feel bad, and worried because now I know it is going to be harder if I ever want to go somewhere..but come on... HE LOVES ME, HE REALLY LOVES ME! It made me feel loved!

Finding the perrfect eating schedule

We got the boys new high chairs and they are SO great to have!! We were trying to feed them on our laps and food was getting everywhere. It is heaven feeding them compared to before. They are great seats, they recline back, Ayden gets the biggest laugh and smile everytime we tilt him back, and they are the kind that sit on the chairs so they don't take up as much room which is perfect for the little room we have in our apartment.

We are still trying to figure our "the perfect" schedule for them with their new solids, so if any one has any advice I'd love to hear it. I feel like I am just winging it, every book is different and so is every doctor. Our doctor is the one who said to start feeding them, she said bottle fed babies start at 4 months and breast fed start at 6 mo. It is so hard, I hope I am not giving them to much. Gavin seems like such a little pig (which was opposite with the bottles, Ayden was always the pig). We feed them at night and Gavins eats a full bowl of rice and a full 1st foods bottle of food. Ayden with the rice will only eat half his bottle and with out the rice eats the entire thing. Lately, during the day Gavin won't eat his bottle so I have been giving him his food and rice instead. Is that too much? I make sure I don't let him do that more than twice a day because I don't want him getting a stomach ache.

So as of today, and it is always changing, we give Gavin his food instead of his bottle earlier than we were for dinner and 2 hours later he wants his bottle and it works perfectly because it puts him to sleep for the night, kind of, he has been doing better and wakes up every 4 hours to eat, but then goes right to sleep. Ayden is different, because he eats less we fed him then give him his bottle right after, and then another before we lays down for the night. Anyways, I went into such detail because if any one has any suggestions or tips or FYI's for me to know I would love to hear them!

Dancin' Feet

Gavin has definitely got a hang of the jumper, he is still in the process of teaching Ayden his moves.

Sharing is Caring

I caught the boys both holding onto this toy after I sat it next to them, I thought it was pretty funny. Latley they both would rather be up than laying on the floor so we decided to get another one of those exersaucers so when we needed a break we can just put them both in the toys and let them watch Baby Einstein. I am telling you, Baby Einstein is a whole other story I love them!! We wanted something different, even though they really like the exersaucer that we got. I was afraid I was going to have buyers remorse when I came home with the new one, but I really think I like it. It is a jumper and switches into a walker when they start learning how to walk. And there is this foot thing on the bottom that makes car "vroom" noises every time there feet hit it, it's so cute.
