The fourth of July

So on this morning, I felt like a bad mom. I thought I had taken car of everything I needed to to celebrate this holiday for my kids. I remember my mom always doing things to make the holidays special for us, including going to every parade! So I woke up, looked in the newspaper and and saw the times for the parades and I felt so bad i wasn't prepared! I totally forgot about the parades and there wasn't much time for us to get there and have a good spot before roads closed. I felt really bad to say the least. Especially because it was my fault and I was the one who slept in.  So we hurried and got ready for the day and decided we would do our first plan, head to the zoo. on the way we realized there were people setting up or the parade in our town that I didn't know about, I asked when it started and it was in 1.5 hours, really it is crazy how early people get ready for these things! So we decided we would do that. We found actually a really great spot, but because we weren't prepared, I think we made  a bad decision. We had no blankets or chairs to sit on and no canopy and it was the HOTTEST day EVER!!! Lucky we did have a huge box of pops in the car and plenty of food to get them by while they were waiting for the parade to start.

This little girl isn't sad, she is HOT!

trying to find some shade behind the stroller

so some guy came walking by with these crappy hats that broke so easily (I wish we had known, but I guess I should have!) but it helped so they all had something covering them!

Carter finally fell asleep

Lets just say that was the longest parade ever, and there were more adds, then floats! We really should have just gone to the zoo. We were going back and forth as to if we should go after the pararde, it was hot everyone was a little cranky, it was past the time we could lay anyone down for naps, the kids were begging to go because they knew we were going to go earlier, so we went and it was a bad idea.  We got there and got ice cream, they all decided they wanted the flavored ice cream and they all hated it, carter got sunscreen in his eyes, and we walked up the zoo and down and then went home. And the sad thing is we were probably there for about an hour to an hour and a half and pretty much saw nothing!! the best part of the Zoo that day was for some reason "Belle and Rapunzel" were sitting on chair near by taking a break it looked like, and Ava still doesn't stop talking about how she sat on Rapunzel lap! The only picture we have of the zoo that day! )

That night we did our own fireworks, and we can't do them in our neighborhood, so we rebeled and did them behind a school. It was a long day and we wanted tog et them down, so we did them early and you couldn't see the fireworks all that well, so next year will be different and we will do alot different. Live and learn!! That is all I can say!

I think it is so funny all their different expressions in these pictures

Mr. Fireworks himself!! So organized laying them out! =)

My friend Gwen  joined us because her family was out of town, it was fun having her their, we always have a lot fun with her and her family!

Gavin and his typical pose...he wonders why we are always asking him if he needs to use the bathroom...

Dinner at the McGarrs

Since the beginning of Jordan and my courtship we have always had dinner with the McGarrs, their family has been a big part of our lives and we are so grateful for them for so many reasons!!  We had one last big get togeher before Kassie and Travis were getting ready to visit Kassie's family so we did it by having dinner at the McGarrs!

Everything was set up so perfectly and dinner was awesome as usual!

I don't think my kids realized the horses behind their house until this day

The kids all LOVED trying to feed it some hay

Bear Lake June/July 2012

Bear Lake has got to be one of my kids top places to go in the summer, and what makes it even more fun is when their Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle and cousins come to join us!

Ellie and Grandma picked out these balls at the store, one for each kid, and they were a hit!

The pool was their favorite place to be this time around. This was their first time we had tubes and inflatables for them, you can tell we don't' get to the pool very often with all our small kids!!  But they LOVED it!  There is a toddler pool which is awesome to have, and they big pool.  The tubes gave my kids some slow confidence to go into the big pool ad they gradually gained confidence in knowing they would help them float.  However, Ava had no problem at all, she jumped right i the big pool with her tube and then went right down the slide all by herself.  She is one independent little girl!!

I had a funny conversation with gavin, it went like this:
Gavin: "Mom put your head under water"
Mom: "I will if you do"
Gavin: "No"
Mom: "Ok, then I won't"
...a pause for a minute or two...
Gavin: "Ok mom, look, I'll even take my tube off and float with my water wings"

...What!!??  That's all that needed to be said for him to gain his confidence and it was over, he was totally fine int he big pool floating around and having a good time, he was so proud of himself!!!

Easton was perfectly content staying in the little pool,  and Ayden would go back and forth  between the toddler pool and the stairs on the big pool, that was a big deal for him and we were proud of him for that!

This is Ava after dunking her head in the water, a face we saw often!

Here she goes again...

Jordan is usually the one that goes in the pool with the kids, but this time I guess it was my turn...

Ayden was done and waiting for everyone to leave so he could go ride his scooter, so he hung out with Grandma and Aunt Kassie

The Beach

Ava found a lady bug

Jordan, Travis, and Ben all did the Jet Skis for a few hours while we were their, the only kids that went for rides were Ava and Ellie!! Brave girls!
Kassie and Gavin working on burying Ava...

...Which lead to this work of art later...
This kids working hard on the beach trying to make water holes and dams, and sand castles

Carter LOVED the water, I was worried we would have as much sand in his mouth as we had when Easton was his age and we were at the beach, but it didn't occur as often!

Easton his showing us how he gets his snot from his nose to his cheek...gross!

This is one dirty kid!

Going to and from the beach or the park..

What can I say, she is my diva who loves to pose!

Easton loves the park, I think this is his favorite place to be, here and the beach!
