Our Sealing Day to Ava

On August 29th, 2009 we were sealed to our beautiful daughter Ava in the Boise temple. We feel so blessed to be able to travel where we can have family around to celebrate this special day and moments like these. Although it was very hard to get a "perfect picture" of us all smiling and looking straight into the camera (I can dream) we were very lucky to get so many pictures taken to remember this special day. Ava has been such a blessing in our lives and we know she was always meant to be a part of our family. We could not imagine life without her.

We knew this day would be busy and hectic for our children. The greatest peace was brought to us in the sealing room when our children were brought in. They were so happy and calm almost like they were preparing to enter. We were able to look into the mirror and see our Eternal Family.

35 Weeks and counting

I had my 35 week appointment on Friday and she said I was 1 cent. dialated and my wall was very thin and that I was past the point of needing to be induced, so I would for sure have this baby on my own most likely before my due date. From what I hear they can say that and I can still be over due. The baby's head is down and he has dropped. I am ready for him to be out of my body, but not quite ready for him to come!!

I was reading a story in the Ensign and at the end the lady telling a story about her life and family said "I believe that the Lord wants us to "be believing" and that He wants us not to give up on Him or His timing or His ways. I know that this kind of faith-this kind of love-will guide my family and me as we work together to be an eternal family"

What comfort these words brought to me as we prepare for our new child to come into this world. It is overwhelming to think about what this next year and a half will be like with 4 children so young and my husband in school. It has already been a struggle and I wonder how the Lord expects me to handle these long days and still be sane. But what I do know is that he will be there with me through it all, and He knows what he is doing far more than I do, so I trust him, and I am grateful that he has blessed me and trusted me with all of my beautiful children and has given me this opportunity to bring another one of his children into this world. I truly feel blessed.

The boys got a haircut

So anything having to do with the boys is always an adventure and a wrestling match! They hate having their hair washed, it for some reason is torture for them and always has been since they were born!

There hair us such high maintenance Ayden has a sensitive head, and always has, and we comb it and get all the knots out after we wash it, which is once a week for their hair type, which is not that bad, but it takes him about 15 minutes of recovery time after combing through it which takes all of about 2 minutes. And Gavin's hair really should be done about once a week, but sometimes I don't get to it until about every 2 and it takes about 45 minutes to do, an he does really well for a 2 year old to sit for that long, I think he knows that is just how it works, he sits on my lap with a snack and watches cartoons, I think he likes the individual mommy time. But really it's hard enough to keep up with now, after this next baby it is just another thing I'll have to do, so we decided for now it is easiest to just cut their hair short!

To prepare them we put them in their high chairs and gave them some suckers and tootsie rolls (Yeah I know real healthy) but for such a dramatic thing for them it's well worth it. So first put the cape on Gavin and he saw me get my clippers out and all of a sudden we hear from him "Done, Done, Done" he knew what was coming. I turned it on and then the tears came screaming out, but the funniest part is when I took my scissors to clip his dreads off to make it easier to go through with the clippers one fell on his cape and he pointed at it with shriek of terror, it was really very funny, I wish we had it on tape. Ayden on the other hand sat eating his sucker watching with a smile until it was his turn. The crying came as we put the cape on. Now if we thought Gavin was hard, Ayden was much harder. He really put a fight in, Jordan actually had to hold his head down with some force because Ayden was pretty dang tough trying to get those clippers away from his head. I can't decide which is worse having to clipper his head every couple of months or combing through his hair once a week. Afterward, they were all smiles, we gave them some Dots from our halloween candy and they got over it pretty quick and are always feeling each others heads. I tell them how handsome they are with their new haircuts and they get big smiles on their faces.

Here are their before and after pictures. At first it was a pretty dramatic change for me, but by the next morning I really liked it, they look like such big boys and are so handsome!

This was pretty cute. The next morning while I was bathing Ava, the boys were fighting over a book. I told Ayden to go get his own and they both kind of walked away and I didn't hear anything. When I came out this is what I saw, my sweet little boys sharing the book together going over their animal noises and watching cartoons, this is one of those precious moments that make me realize how much they are really growing up!

He's coming soon, sooner than I am ready, but definitely ready to have him out!! I am tired of my body feeling so helpless!!

Happy Birthday Ayden and Gavin!

The Birthday Boys!

We got them these little dinosaur hats from the dollar store and this is Ayden ROARING at us!

This was the night before, we had just picked up the second bike so we decided to let them try their new bikes out. They are still learning, but we can tell they really love them. It will be fun when they can actually ride them.

This was the morning of their birthday, Jordan set this up for them the night before and we brought them down to see it, they love it!! There favorite thing to do is try to fix things so we thought this would be a good gift for them.

During the day we picked up some Subway and met there cousins at a park and spent some time there, our boys love to be outside, Ava was loving the swing, in fact, they all enjoy the swings!

Ta Da!! The cake I made for them. I was excited it turned out pretty cute, I got this idea from my sister who made this for her son who is a year older than my boys last year, I thought it sounded like a good idea so I made it this year! Sisters are great for ideas!

The boys enjoyed the gummy worms more than the cake
