Since I am just now posting this and Carter will be due for us 9 month milestone pictures, I will start talking about Carter from age 5 1/2 months until now! We started him on solids at 5 1/2 months, we were going to start at 6 months (which I know is only a few weeks early) but he was acting so ready for it I started him a few weeks early.
It is funny how with our first we were so excited to start that stage (so we started at 4 months with the twins) and then the more kids we have the longer we want to push it back! He like bananas and sweet potatoes, applesauce, pears.  Hated green beans, peas, carrots! It lasted maybe a month and then quit eating the baby food all together! He would scarf down the rice, but would cry whenever I tried to feed him the baby food.  So he stuck to rice, I kept trying with the baby food and failed every time! At 7 months, he really seemed to be begging for table food so I started our with letting him gnaw on pizza crust.  A few days later he had some chicken nuggets, and then his favorite ramen noodles! So I have been feeding him rice and then the soft foods I feel comfortable giving him.  He does really well with picking up his food and putting it in his mouth and has all the baby snacks, like cheerios, and those little flavored puffs, ritz crackers, etc.  I don't know what it is with the rice, but he really loves the MUMS rice crackers.
I swear he was teething for like 3 months!! He popped his first tooth at 8 months and half way through the month his other one is on its way!

He started sitting up a little after 6 months and now (at 8 1/2 mo) he can turn himself around sitting on his bum and keeps lunging forward trying to move.  I am really excited for when he starts to crawl and walk, I know a lot of people aren't, but I love it! It makes them a little more independent!

He babbles so cute all day long! And as long as mom is around he is a happy boy! He recently started grabbing on to his feet and moving them all around.

We tried taking him off his acid reflux medicine in Dec.  He is on 2 perscriptions, and what a mistake that was!! He had been nursing better than he ever had before, he was super happy, layed down great! Well, we took him off one perscription first and the fussyness was so gradual, It didn't dawn on me it was the medicine.  So we took him off the second prescription, and a week or two later, a few more Dr.'s visits, and his sudden desire to stop taking a bottle or nursing, and we recognized he needed to get back on.  It has been a month that he has been back on his medicine and he will not nurse and it takes about an hour for him to take a bottle, if he will even take it, and it is much harder to get him down at night!! Lesson learned! The problem is taking him off his medicine is the only way to know whether he needs it or not. I am waiting for that year mark when he doesn't need the bottle!!

As hard as babies can be, we would not have it any other way! His siblings love him and are always coming right up to him never knowing what personal space is and trying to give him toys and talk to him.  They continue to sit behind him and put both arms around him ( like when he couldn't sit up on his own) and holding him tight.  I keep having to remind them he can sit up by himself and he does not like to be pulled back!! He may be a little pestered, but it is purely out of love from all of them! We love him so much and we are so grateful to have our little baby Carter in our family!
